Charities Leads Club Is Involved
With
Three Day Breast Cancer Walk Welcome friends and family. I decided to sign up for the 3-day
Breast Cancer Walk to honor my mother, Ali Lassen, as well as many
of our friends and family who have been affected by breast cancer.
Throughout the training as well as my life my mother has been a
constant source of inspiration and I would appreciate your support
in my goal to raise $3200. This goal will allow us to become a Power
Team and have a greater role in the Race for the Cure. Proceeds
will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National
Philanthropic Trust, which funds breast cancer research, education,
screening, and treatment. Thanks for your support and donations
as I take on this 60-mile journey. Eileen Elliott Memorial Competition The family of Los Angeles Executive Director, Eileen Elliott, has
been working with Lynda Mc Ginnis, a long standing Leads Club Member
and the new Regional Consultant for the Inland Empire. Together
we have created a way to honor Eileen’s legacy. The result is "The
Eileen Elliott Scholarship Fund."
All donations will be acknowledged by the Foundation and the names
will be sent to the family of Eileen Elliott. All donations are
tax deductible as it is a 501 3c non-profit organization.
The initial $1,000 perpetual scholarship will be given each June.
If the fund grows larger than the amount needed for a $1,000 scholarship,
the Family will have the option of one large sum scholarship or
breaking it down into $1,000 increments as many as donations allow.
In addition, Lynda McGinnis and the Big Bear Valley Renaissance
Foundation are putting together a music competition to be held at
their events. The competition will be open to any child who wishes
to participate and will have a $500 scholarship prize. This scholarship
will be funded each year by the Big Bear Valley Renaissance Foundation
in Eileen's memory and will be known as the "Eileen Elliott Memorial Competition."
Anyone wishing to contribute to the scholarship fund should make
their checks payable to Big Bear Valley Renaissance Society, Inc.
