You may be secluded but your Business doesn’t have to be!

Leads Club Chapters are open for business with record-breaking attendance and business getting done.

As always, I commend and celebrate our Members.  The pivoted quickly and seamlessly to online Video Conferencing and kept the momentum and business relationships they have created over time intact.

Honestly, I am concerned for the small/micro business person and how they will survive the Pandemic.  One of the hardest parts for many of us is not knowing how long this will all last.  Hence making it difficult to plan the future of your business.  While this is definitely a challenging time, please allow me to share some light.

The following are stories, mostly from our Members, of how they have redefined their businesses.

Our beloved Hairdressers.  We love you and truly cannot live without you.  For those who are playing by the rules, here are some creative ways they are keeping on.    A.  Sell Gift Certificates and give Certificate holders the first appointments in your calendar when you are back.  B.  Not sure if this is legal, but one woman asked her hairdresser if she could mix up her color and supplies and she’d come to pick it up and pay the full price.  It worked like a charm, and the future is not so dim for these two creative women.

Event Planners.  I can’t tell you how many friends have said:  “I’m having one huge party when this is over.”  This is my thought, while you are less busy, create some “Post Pandemic” Party Packages.  Utilize your social media to share your ideas on what you will create for these welcome back parties.  And there are people out there with money, so book those parties and collect a deposit.  I haven’t googled it yet, but the sooner you are out there offering something for us to look forward to, the better odds of people choosing you and your business.

Estate Planning Attorneys.  An Attorney in my network posted this online workshop for creating two critical documents; • Advance Health Care Directive (with Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care), and • Durable Power of Attorney for Management of Property and Personal Affairs, for only $129.00 per person.  The going rate here in San Diego is $250.00 per document.  Check out our Facebook Post in Leads Club Inc. March 31 at 4:45pm.  Think about this, if you have a loved one that you are concerned about and can get this done for such a nominal rate, wouldn’t you think of her the next time you needed an Attorney?

A 25+ year Mary Kay Sales Director Lisa W., here in San Diego was concerned that 4 of their 5 Distribution sites were closed.  We brainstormed some ideas and check out what we came up with.  She is a Makeup Artist as well as a Consultant.  I wanted to know the best way to do my Make up to look good/professional in Zoom meetings.  Lisa immediately listed 3 things to do, including purchasing a Ring.  She then said, no big deal.  But yes, it is a Big Deal.  I didn’t know this stuff.  So now we have an expert in Zoom Call Makeup Expert at your fingertips.  My next question to her is, how can I make my nose not look so big!

A Professional Organizer here in San Diego was sharing her business concerns.  She likes to go to her client’s homes while working with them.  As luck would have it, my own Organizer recently went virtual with her business due to some back problems.   I was able to share this with her and a few other of her fellow Members had also suggested the same thing.   She was going to give it a try with two clients she’s currently working with and I look forward to hearing how it’s going.

A Videographer in our I-15 Chapter was sharing that she can do marketing and social media but not shoot video.  I beg to differ.  Just that week I had been filmed via Skype doing a video testimonial for the Coaching Company I took my training with.

Do any of you remember when there was a prediction circulating that we would do virtual Dr. visits?  At the time it sounded utterly impossible.

Again, please allow me to share my concern and compassion for everyone going through tough times, however it presents in your world.  But if we can all put on our thinking caps and let our creative juices flow, we can come up with amazing opportunities like I shared above.  I will continue to share more as I hear about them, just look for the “Reinvent” photo.

If you have a story of how you or an Associate reinvented your business during COVID 19, please share here and we’ll all prosper.

Leads Club remote meeting success

Thank you to our Lincoln Park Chapter in Chicago, Il. for sharing a photo of their meeting!  Great job.

I’m thrilled to share that already this week, Chapters throughout the country have held remote meetings using Video Conferencing software.  The most popular choices have been Zoom, but others are using GotoMeetings or Goggle Hangouts.

Check out a quote from our Regional Director Cheryl:  Perimeter, Georgia:  “Our meeting yesterday went well. We had all members and 2 visitors. Since we weren’t dealing with waitstaff and food,  it was only about 40 minutes”.

Please know we are here to help and will continue to share updates and tools for your use.  Hang in there, we are here for you.

Please be Cautious, Kind and Calm.

Leads Club is up and running

Greetings,    We have had a few questions about Fees.

At this time it is business as usual at Leads Club.  Our office has dramatically ramped up our support and we are working diligently with your Consultants and Directors to get all of the Chapters meeting via Video Conference.   As you hopefully have seen with our recent communication, we have waived the attendance for March to give everyone a chance to learn the technology and get settled with all of the rapid changes.

In addition, we are still encouraging Visitors and have extended our “Network with a Friend” through the end of May.

We are optimistically confident that Members will crave the contact while sequestered and enjoy the online meetings.  In addition, the dedication of our Members will surely create more new business as we are an organization based on giving.

I encourage you to give it a chance to work.

Our Consultants will continue to support you locally via virtual visits providing tips and tools to help you maximize your results in Leads Club and marketing your business.  I’m confident that our very experienced and knowledgeable staff will provide excellent Member care for any of your concerns or questions.  Our office is staffed and available Monday through Thursday 9:00 am-3:00pm PT and by appointment.

Lastly, meeting virtually will save you both time and money.  No commute to meetings or meal fees.

Best wishes,

Lisa Bentson, President, and CVO, Leads Club Inc.

Covid-19 Update

Friday March 13, 2020

We continue to monitor the fast-moving situation around Covid-19 and how it relates to our Leads Club Chapter meetings.  As we stated before, it is critical that all Chapters and Members adhere to the recommendations of their local City, County, State and Federal Guidelines.  Those will supersede any recommendations given by us.

At this time, with the information we have, we have decided to utilize an abundance of caution and strongly recommend that Leads Club meetings that are held in public places be cancelled through the end of March.

For the month of March, we will suspend the Attendance policy.  We do however encourage Members to meet remotely utilizing the free Video Conferencing tools available.

We will host a webinar Monday March 16 for Directors and Consultants, on utilizing remote meeting software.  More on this coming soon.

Some people are experiencing anxiety, which is a normal emotion during events like this.    Here is an article that our local Mayor shared that has some useful tips for staying sane and healthy., click here.

Our thoughts go out to all the people in the world who are affected with this virus.  We hope that with kindness and grace we can walk down whatever path this takes us and come together again soon.

All of us here at the Global HQ of Leads Club care deeply about the health and welfare of our Members.

At this time, we refer you to your local and Federal Authorities when making determinations about future Leads Club meetings.  If you are being told by responsible entities to not assemble, then we encourage you to hold meetings via Zoom.   Every City, County, and State has different circumstances.

I just listened to an update (from noon ET today 3-9-20) from the Center for Disease Control

We encourage you to click the link above to be taken directly to the CDC for future updates and instruction.

We hope that this will pass quickly with the least amount of impact on the people of the world.

Please be safe.

Celebrating our Founder’s Birthday

Ali Lassen, 1926-1999

September 18 is a special day, it’s our Leads Club Founder’s birthday.  More importantly to me, it’s my Mother’s birthday.  73-years-old, seems too young to pass in these days of advanced medicine.  She fought a valiant fight with Breast Cancer, availing herself to all modalities of Western and Eastern medicine.   Unfortunately, right at the 5-year mark to the month of diagnosis, the big C came back and 5 months later she passed on my brother’s birthday May 17th.

This year marks 20 years since she passed, it’s hard to believe.  As I remember her, I think of her most noteworthy traits, and they are many.  She was a feminist way before it was a thing.  She was a dedicated mother to my 4 siblings and me.  She supported our father in his law practice and political endeavors, never missing a step.  She was Green and holistic before it was cool and raised us to eat clean and healthy.  Thank you, Mom!  Before I was born, she graduated from college with a Masters degree and enlisted in the Navy as a Wave, teaching pilot’s how to jump out of airplanes during WW II.

For the past few weeks I’ve been seeing the date on the calendar and anticipating a rush of emotion.  Today is that day.  As I’ve learned, grief is a journey, and how amazing is that as one of Ali’s favorite sayings is: “Success is a Journey, not a Destination”.  I did not have an emotional rush this year, but what I am thinking about is how amazing she was.

If you asked me to select one thing that I remember, it is one of the ways she presented herself in business.  Ali Lassen always saw the potential in you.  She assumed and expected that you can do anything you set your mind to accomplish as long as you are professional, prepared and earnest.

Ali has taught me many things over the years but this one I believe has been one of her best traits that I have aspired to emulate.

In honor of Ali, please be open to the potential of people you meet.  Assume the best.  Offer to Mentor.

I won’t get preachy here, so I will close with my heartfelt wish that you emulate Ali Lassen and find someone with potential and mentor them to success.  It is such a win- win proposition, I promise you, you will gain so much more than you give.

If you have a moment, please share your story of mentoring a fellow business person.
